Chapter 29
1 And King David said to all the assembly, "Solomon my son, whom God has chosen, is only a youth and tender, and the work is great, for the citadel is not for man but for the LORD God." 2 And with all my power I have provided for the house of my God: gold for gold things and silver for silver things and bronze for bronze things, iron for iron things and wood for wood things, onyx stones and settings for them, stones of various colors and embroidery and every precious stone and marble stones in abundance. 3 And moreover, because I take pleasure in the house of my God, I have a treasured possession—gold and silver—that I have given to the house of my God, above all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary. 4 three thousand talents of gold from the gold of Ophir and seven thousand talents of silver refined to plaster the walls of the houses. 5 For gold, for gold, and for silver, for silver, and for every work by the hand of artisans—who is volunteering to fill his hand today for the LORD? 6 And the chiefs of the fathers and the chiefs of the tribes of Israel and the chiefs of the thousands and the hundreds and the chiefs of the work of the king volunteered. 7 And they gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents of gold and ten thousand talents of silver and ten thousand darics of gold and ten thousand talents of bronze and eight thousand talents of iron and a hundred thousand talents of iron. 8 And those found with him gave stones to the treasury of the house of the LORD by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 And the people rejoiced over their voluntary offering, for with a complete heart they had voluntarily offered to the LORD. And David the king also rejoiced with great rejoicing.
